July 17: Sometimes it is the smaller details that are completed first. The pitch was installed, with LED boards and a personalised corner flag. |
July 18: Work ongoing on the stands. |
July 18: A view of the stadium with a backdrop of the Carpathian mountains. Prior to the competition beginning, I built a scale model of the Carpathian mountains to the south and west of the venue. By copying and pasting the stadium into that model, I was able to see how the backdrop looked from various points on the site. |
July 18: Another view |
July 19: A look towards the west of the site. I really liked the way the upper tier supports cut into the lower tier seating area. I've always felt that gives a venue an older, less refined feel. |
July 19: The new upper western stand. |
July 19: Looking towards the eastern stand at the newly installed videoboards. |
July 20: Concourse structures were modelled. The design was based on the existing building in the western corner. |
July 21: Experimenting with yellow seats. I don't like it at all. |
July 22: Work begins on installing the vomitories and stairways. |
July 22: A view of the work done - with the main stand vomitory on the left and the west and eastern stand stairway on the right. |
July 22: Looking at one of the stairways at the eastern end of the ground. I like the view down towards the pitch - it looks very intimate which was one of the main considerations of the fans. |
July 22: Reinstalling the "Rezistenta Din Munti Brasov" mural in the southwest corner of the site. I would eventually move it down to ground level in front of the fans but that would happen later. |
