Grunwalder Stadium: Part 1

April 12: There wasn't a great deal of work done on this day. It was Easter and I spent the day with family. Despite this, I got the base texture imported. the ostkurve modelled, and mapped out the main roads to the east of the site.
April 13: Wasted very little time getting on with the stadium model. The VIP-tribune and Gegengerade were modelled, as well as the floodlights.
April 13: Another view.

April 14: Haupttribune was modelled. This was the most technically difficult stand to model, as parts like the media tribune and rear of the stand were difficult to visualise and had to be approximated as best I could.

April 15: Westkurve was mapped out.

April 15: Another angle

April 16: Stairways and the like added to the westkurve.

April 16: Another angle.

April 17: Adding the reliefs to the VIP-tribune wall. In reality, there's a number of different models for the reliefs, but I only recreated one section and used that to save time. The difference is barely noticable.

April 17: Wall behind the ostkurve mapped out.

April 18: Texturing of the stadium, along with the scoreboard being modelled. The textures are made up of a small number of textures that are reused across several areas of the site model.

April 18: Another view, with the support building in the northeast corner modelled.

April 18: A site overview of the stadium model.

April 18: A view of the reliefs.

Racetrack (2014)

This is a racetrack I modelled back in 2014, but unfortunately, I never got around to posting the pictures. I've come a long way from this project.

Estadio Bragantino presentation pictures

The following series of pictures are the raw rendered files from the presentation. Enjoy.

Phase 1 view from southeast corner.

Phase 1 view from northwest corner. I regret not turning down the saturation on the background layer.

Phase 1 night view from the northeast corner.

This render really showcases why I used the progress rendering as I mentioned in the earlier entry. I thought that the background layer was turned off, but I didn't do that and didn't realise until it was too late.

Phase 1 view of the site looking down from the northern roof.

Phase 2 view from the southeast corner. This was deliberately angled to be as similar as possible to the phase 1 image.

Phase 2 view from the northwest corner.

Phase 2 view from the eastern stand. I'm really happy with the matte effect of the seating.

The view of Gate A.

Northern entry plaza connecting to Gate B and Gate C.

Northern concourse

View from the southern end of Gate E. One thing I really didn't like is the tree on the far left rendered horribly.

Main stand concourse. Not happy with how dark each of the people came out.

View of the main stand during the day.

And the night view. I absolutely loved this view.

Aerial shot from the north

Elevated view from the southwest.

Elevated view from the southeast. I wound up using this as the title image as it didn't really fit elsewhere in the presentation.

View from the southwest.

Another angle of Gate A from phase 2.

View from the southern end in phase 2 configuration.

View from the southeastern corner in phase 2 configuration

View from the east in phase 2 configuration. This is another shot I really liked.

View of the stage setup.

Exterior view of the stage setup.

Floor view of the stage setup

View from the stage looking out at the crowd.

Multicourt setup view. I did not spend a lot of time setting this up for rendering and messed up some of the lights, which is what gave it the blue hue.

And another view.
MMA setup view. Not so fun fact - this rendering took 8 hours. I still have no clue why it took that long.
Another view of the MMA setup. I intentionally angled this down to try and render it a lot quicker than the first shot.
