Hyatt Regency Stadium - the basic shell
A view of the stadium, at roughly 1:30pm, with the retracting roof opened.
A view of the stadium, at roughly 1:30pm, with the retracting roof closed.
A view showing the amount of illumination from the windows.
The large concrete walls at the end are for scoreboards and advertising. The design is meant to feel light and airy, and at this point I have varied from the original design which I feel didn't work well in practice. I'm a big fan of the view with the roof open, I think it emphasises the 'airy' nature of the stadium.

Hyatt Regency Stadium
Work has begun on the Hyatt Regency Stadium, future home of Gold Coast United. Above is the basic lower tier component, which will be used right around the bottom tier. I am hopeful that the stadium will be completed in roughly 10 days. It is based on the proposal put forward back in September 2011.

Suncorp Stadium is a 52,500 seat rectangular sporting stadium located in the suburb of Milton in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The stadium plays host to the A-League football with current champions Brisbane Roar, National Rugby League (NRL) through the Brisbane Broncos, Super 15 rugby through the current champions the Queensland Reds as well as various other sporting events and concerts throughout the year. *****NOTE***** Due to the file size of 12.5MB, the file has been uploaded to Mediafire. Suncorp Stadium: the images
This version of the model weighs in at 34.197 million edges, by far the heaviest model I have ever made. Next process is the simplification of the model, so that I can upload it for others to view.

Suncorp Stadium: the end is in sight
Seating-wise, there is very little still left to do. Most of the work is done, just have to add the seats on the two upper northern stand, open boxes on the lower northern stand and disabled seats. Then there is the concourses to finish, reworking the facade, landscaping and adding the railings and advertising, lighting, rigs on the roof and texturing. Estimated completion time is inside the next 48 hours.
These are just quick Sketchup exports as I don't want to do any more renders until the job is done.
